by Step Instructions -
Since every
speaker has a unique set of needs, it's best to call first to
determine exactly what your demo should look like and for some
helpful hints to achieve this. (805) 845 7262
1. Gather together all the
best examples of your work. (anywhere from 2 to say 6 pieces)
2. If you don’t have any
preconceived idea of what you want and don’t even want to be
involved in choosing what goes on the demo, that’s all you need to
do. Leave the rest to us and skip to number 11.
Otherwise, go to number 3.
3. So that
we’re on the same page, number each piece of media clearly and
legibly. So if you have two dvd’s, a vhs and a MiniDV, you would
number them 1 thru 4 so they could be identified. A Post-It note
placed on the cover or box with a large number on it would do.
4. Log
your tapes. This is Very Important !! Go
through all your media logging the beginning
(IN) and ending (OUT) of each section you feel shows you at your
very best. For us to find the pieces on your media, you need to
clearly mark the IN and OUT points and give a brief description of
the visual and a few words spoken.
To avoid any chance of error, please
don’t hand write but type these.
Then decide which is your very best
piece. This will be the clip we kickoff with.
Remember, you only get one first impression !

Note: The time in minutes and
seconds is shown on the digital readout of your dvd player. If you
are using vhs please call for detailed instructions on how to
correctly log these tapes.
5. Find other clips which show
just how diverse you are. They could be funny, compassionate,
serious, interviews, whatever will show you at your very best. If you have some with audience reaction, all the better. Again, mark clearly the IN, OUT and a description. If we
don’t have these crucial timings, it’s impossible to find the clips.
6.
Testimonials are a great way to inform your audience just how much
your work is appreciated by others. They can be either on-camera,
audio only or you can quote them. Email the exact quote, including the
author’s name, title and company to gordon@scotchproductions.com
7.
Package your media examples very carefully and send using a carrier
(like UPS or Fedex) that will accurately track your package as you
don’t want to lose your precious videos.

8. Once
edited, a draft copy (lower resolution than the final master dvd)
will be posted for you to review on the web.
A master dvd will then be mailed to you and your media elements
returned.
9 .
The total edited length of your demo shouldn't be longer than 10
minutes. Five to six engaging minutes are much better than 10
mediocre minutes. It will include an attention grabbing opening title with your name
and contact info. This will also end the demo so that your clients
will be left with your name and contact info.
10.
Quality - The quality
of the video will only be as good as the media you provide. If you
provide high quality media, your edited video demo will be high
quality. If some of your media is low quality the edited demo will
suffer as a consequence. Usually some color correction and other
improvements can be made but the quality of edited video will still
not be high quality. So try to get the very best quality of media
possible.
11. Now,
you're ready to have you're dynamic speaker's
video demo produced, click the

$630 will be due upon completion. But, before you do, if you have any questions

12. A
version for your website and/or Youtube can be created (extra
charge) These can be either Windows Media, Quicktime or Flash.
This would add approximately $60.
